　　As you slowly open your eyes,look around,notice where the light comes into your room; listen carefully,see if there are new sounds you can recognize; feel with your body and spirit,and see if you can sense the freshness in the air.

　　Yes,yes,yes,it’s a new day,it’s a different day,and it’s a bright day!And most importantly,it’s a new beginning for your life,a beginning where you are going to make new decisions,take new actions,make new friends,and take your life to a totally unprecedented(空前的) level.

　　In your mind’s eye,you can see clearly the things you want to have,the paces you intend to go,the relationships you desire to develop,and the positions you aspire(励志) to reach.

　　You can hear your laughters of joy and happiness on the day when everything happens as you dream.You can see the smiles on the people around you when the magic moment strikes.You can feel your face is getting red,your heart is beating fast,and your blood is rushing all over your body,to every single corner of your being!

　　You know all this is real as long as you are confident,passionate and committed!(效忠的) And you are confident,you are passionate,you are committed!

　　You will no longer fear making new sounds,showing new facial expressions,using your body in new ways,approaching new people,and asking new questions.

　　Many people yearn to be more self-confident. Yet they have no idea how to achieve that objective. They look at others who have the gift and say, “Hey that’s what I want. I hate feeling unsure of myself. I wish I could stop obsessing about what others think of me and quit worrying about disappointing other people. I want to stop anguishing over my decisions and torturing myself about my mistakes. I think it would be so great to feel self-assured, hold my head up high and stand tall. I’ve never been self-confident. I wish there were a way I could be.”

　　There is a way. You don’t have to be born with self-confidence. Self-confidence can grow and flourish and ripen and blossom until you actually come to feel as though there is a different person inside of you. Here are some insights that might facilitate the quest.

　　Learn what a self-confident person is really like. They are not cocky, know-it-all people who don’t care what anybody else thinks. They have their doubts. And make mistakes. And are far from perfect. However, they are willing to acknowledge their inadequacies without dwelling on them. They do this by maintaining a sense of humor, putting problems in perspective, and focusing mainly on what they’ve done right, not wrong.

　　Though self-confident people do believe in themselves, they don’t try to suffocate others with their ideas or beliefs. They are confident in what they know not only because they read, learn and think but also because they respect their instinct, intuition and the unique body of knowledge that they’ve developed by living life. They realize that one doesn't have to be labeled an “expert” to believe in one's own truths.

　　Self-confident people don’t undermine their own worth by comparing themselves with others, only to conclude that they aren’t “good enough”. They appreciate their strengths and accomplishments and can acknowledge, without embarrassment, their weaknesses. They don’t live in the “victim” position. Even if something really bad has occurred, they turn it into a challenge, remembering to be grateful for the little things in life.

　　Yes,we must stand up from where we fall down.

　　That was a special mid night in 1993.Expectations filled our hearts.

　　We stared at the TV,hoping excitedly as the voice would fly to our ears.

　　Eight years have past,but the frustration has not healed with time at all.

　　Now,at the begining of the new millennium,all of the pride and disappointment of the 20th century had gone with the wind. The 21st century,which is full of hope,longing znd thought has come. Someone said,we would start from zero on.

　　Should I really start from zero on?

　　No!I hold that we should go on with our efferts and ambitions stayed by last century,and make our life better.

　　"New Beijing,Great Olympics!" The voice cries this out around China's captital,a 3,000 -year-old city these days.

　　Beijing,along with Paris,Istanbul,Osake and Toronto,has been shortlisted by the International Olympic Committee as an official candidate city for the 20xxOlympic Games.

　　This is Beijing's second attempt to host the games.

　　Everyone fully supports Beijing's bid for it.

　　Maybe,we can paint fences along the main roads of Beijing.

　　Ibelieve the new century is an era of learning ans teaching,and lifelong education has become one of the main trends in the future developmet of Chinese society.

　　Ibelieve that,on July 13,our dream of Beijing's Olympic bid will become true.

　　Because to millions of Chinese,for China to have the gloal respect and support that she deserves is not just a dream.
