英语中介词短语的用法

　　介词短语，是介词和其它代词或名词或词组搭配形成的短语。口语上简称“介短”。英语中介词短语的用法有哪些?

　　1. 介词短语的构成

　　英语所有介词都是“及物”的，也就是说所有介词都必须有自己的宾语。介词与它所带的宾语就构成介词短语。如：

　　They picnicked in the woods. 他们在树林里野餐。

　　Don’t walk on the grass. 不要在草坪上走。

　　句中的in the woods和on the grass均为介词短语。

　　有时一个介词从形式上看它后面没有宾语，其实它的宾语可能因为不同句型的要求被放在句子的其他位置，要么就带的是逻辑宾语。如：

　　That’s what he is talking about. 那就是他所谈的事。

　　She’s a nice person to work with. 她是一个很好共事的人。

　　第一句句末的介词about好像没有宾语，但其实它有逻辑宾语what，因为要引导表语从句，故被移至从句句首;第二句句末的介词with好像也没有宾语，其实它的宾语是句子主语she，在此句中句子主语为不定式短语to work with的逻辑宾语。

　　2. 介词短语的作用

　　(1) 用作表语

　　The house is in fairly good condition. 这所房子状况尚好。

　　She looks like her mother. 她像她母亲。

　　Choose a book from among these. 从这些书中选一本吧。

　　A man stepped out from behind the wall. 一个人从墙后走出来。

　　She regarded him as without principles. 她认为他没有原则。

　　The window is never opened except in summer. 除夏天外，这扇窗户从未打开。

　　(3) 用作定语

　　I like the design on his tie. 我喜欢他领带上的图案。

　　I’ve decided to leave on the afternoon of the 18th. 我决定18号下午离开。

　　Change the oil in the car every 5,000 miles. 每行使5,000英里要换一次机油。

　　(4) 用作状语

　　I saw him walking along the street. 我看见他沿大街走去。

　　Mr Smith was injured in the war. 史密斯先生在战争期间受过伤。

　　He walked by me without noticing me. 他走过我身旁而没有注意到我。

　　(5) 用作补语(www.yygrammar.com)

　　Kelly is employed as a mechanic..凯利受雇当技工。(宾语补足语)

　　He is regarded as the best doctor in town. 他被认为是本城最好的医生。(主语补足语)
