　　Two guys were walking through the jungle. All of a sudden, a tiger appears from a distance, running towards them. One of the guys takes out a pair of “Nikes” from his bag and starts to put them on. The other guy with a surprised look and exclaims, “Do you think you will run faster than the tiger with those?” His friend replies: “I don’t have to out run it, I just have to run faster than you.”

　　两个男人正在穿过丛林，突然，一只老虎出现在远处，向他们冲来。其中的一个人从包里拿出一双“耐克”鞋，开始穿上。另一个人惊奇地看着他说，“你以为穿上这个就可以跑得过老虎吗?”他的朋友回答道：“我不用跑得过它，我只要跑得比你快就行了。”

　　Making His Mark

　　A man from the state of Chu was taking a boat across a river when he dropped his sword into the water carelessly. Immediately he made a mark on the side of the boat where the sword dropped, hoping to find it later. When the boat stopped moving, he went into the water to search for his sword at the place where he had marked the boat. As we know, the boat had moved but the sword had not. Isnt this a very foolish way to look for a sword? 楚国有个人坐船渡江时，他不小心把自己的一把宝剑掉落江中。他马上掏出一把小刀，在宝剑落水的船舷上刻上一个记号。船靠岸后，那楚人立即从船上刻记号的地方跳下水去捞取掉落的'宝剑。他怎么找得到宝剑呢?船继续行驶，而宝剑却不会再移动。像他这样去找剑，真是太愚蠢可笑了。

　　I Don’t Want to Walk Home

　　我不想走回家

　　Tom is a very old man. After dinner, he likes walking in the street. And he goes to bed at seven o’clock. 汤姆是一位老人，他喜欢在晚饭后到大街上散步，在7点回来睡觉。

　　But tonight, a car stopped at his house. A policeman helps him get out. He tells Tom’s wife, “The old man couldn’t find his way in the street. He asked me to take him in the car.”

It seemed so modest a request that the principal tree at once agreed to it, and it was settled among them that the plain, homely Ash should furnish what was wanted. No sooner had the Woodman fitted the staff to his purpose ,then he began laying about him on all side.Felling the whole matter too late, whispered to the Cedar: “the first concession has lost all ;if we has not a sacrificed our humble neighbor, we might have yet stood for ages ourselves.”

　　有一个樵夫来到森林里，要求树给他一跟斧柄，看来他的请求非常谦虚，立刻得到了树的首领的同意。他们决定由平凡而朴素的白杨树来提供所需要的东西。

　　樵夫刚按好斧柄，就开始到处乱砍，森林里的`树都砍倒了，树林现在察觉大势已去，就小声对衫树说：”第一次的让步已失去了一切，如果我们不牺牲我们的小小的邻居，我们自己还可以活无数年呢。”

　　Stolen Turkey

　　Ducking into confession with a turkey in his arms, Brian said, “Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned. I stole this turkey to feed my family. Would you take it and settle my guilt?”

　　”I tried,” Brian sobbed, “but he refused. Oh, Father, what should I do?”

　　Hearing the driver’s reply, Zhuang Gong smiled to himself and remained silent. 听了车夫的回答，庄公暗自发笑，默默无语。

How can you carry it home?” the little panda answers proudly, “I can’t lift it, but I can roll it.” Her mother smiled and says，“What a clever girl!” 于是她把那瓜滚回家。当她妈妈看到这只大南瓜的时候，很惊讶：“天啊！这么食的`南瓜！你是怎么把它带回家来的？”小熊猫自豪地说；“我拎不动它，可是我能滚动它啊！”她妈妈微笑着说：“真聪明啊！”
