　　亚洲的菲律宾有很多人信仰天主教,菲律宾的圣诞节为每年12 月 16 日至次年1 月6 日,是世界上最长的圣诞节。12 月16 日雄鸡报晓, 城市和乡村教堂的大钟便敲响了,以迎接圣诞节的到来,从16 日至24 日这9 天里,每天清晨4 点钟开始。教徒均到教堂作弥撒,24 日为灯节,教徒通宵不眠,凌晨听到教堂的钟声,便提着各种彩灯去迎神游街, 以迎接25 日的到来。12 月25 日是圣诞节最热闹的一天,家家户户欢聚一堂,安放神像,装设圣诞树,悬挂彩灯,亲戚朋友还彼此赠送圣诞礼物。
