　　My View on Over-Consumption

　　Some people are in favor of the idea of over-consumption. They point out the fact that Chinas rapid economic development has materially enriched the lives of ordinary Chinese people, and at the same time increased our demands as consumers. They also argue that the rising consumption helps drive economic growth.

　　However, other people stand on a different ground. They consider it harmful to consume more than what their family can afford. They firmly point out that the dogged pursuit for more accounts for our debts, anxiety, waste and overload. An example can back up this arguement: The American financial crisis caused by over consumption made the people of the world worse off.

　　There is some truth in both arguements. But I think the disadvantages of over-consumption outweigh the advantages. In addititon to the above-mentioned negative effects, the surging consuming demand threatens to exhaust our resources and spoil our environment.

　　To conclude, our government is advocating ideas of conservation-minded society and sustainable development. Whether due to sense of guilt about waste, or a simple desire to save money, we need to promote sustainable consumption.

　　我总是能看到前方的光明，未来一片美好。没有什么是过不去的，受了委屈掉几滴眼泪转身就过去了，不必记在心里，要不就是委屈了自己。我的心很小，只能选择一些东西装进去，把必要的东西扔出来丢在路上，不让自己累着。

　　我从不在别人背后说别人的.是是非非，那是对别人的不尊重，于我也没有什么意义。我的世界很小，吃饭睡觉看风景，很简单，但也很快乐。偶尔和朋友闹了矛盾，转身就和好，真正的朋友是不会走到决裂的那一步的。如果会有决裂的一天，只能说明不是真正的朋友，只是她来到你的世界，给你上一节课，然后匆匆离开。

　　我的朋友不多，知心的也就那几个。但我很享受这样的小圈子小范围的生活。那种满世界都是朋友的江湖生活的确不适合我，太累，太麻烦。或许归根结底是我太懒。

While most Asian guys are shy and they won’t be active until they get familiar with each other. On the other hand, the image of Asian men is not that strong. Look at the movie and TV series, then we can barely find the yellow men as the heroes. What’s more, in the history, yellow men came to western countries to look for gold, then they work as the worker and once were driven away by the local people.

　　一方面，文化差异。西方的人比较开放，陌生人之间也可以很快就一起出去玩。然而大多数亚洲人都比较害羞，直到彼此熟悉，不然都不怎么活跃。另一方面，亚洲男性的形象并不是那么强壮。看看那些电影和电视剧，我们几乎找不到黄种人是英雄的角色。更重要的是，在历史上，黄种人来到西方国家寻找黄金，他们作为工人，曾被当地居民驱赶。

　　爷爷又说：“字母要写得大，两行之间要有空隙！”我疑惑地问：“为什么？这是浪费纸资源。”其实我是想写得小点，可以快点写完，好看电视去。谁知，爷爷不好意思地说：“孙女，你教我学英语，先从二十六个字母开始。”我这才明白爷爷为什么要我写字母。于是，我非常标准地写完了二十六个英文字母，又快速地念了一遍。这可把爷爷急坏了，只见爷爷皱着眉头说：“樱樱，你慢点，我在做记录。”我一听，奇怪地问：“做记录？这也要做记录吗？”爷爷解释说：“我怕记不住，在字母下面都注了汉字，比如‘大比六’就是‘Ｗ’，‘外’就是‘Ｙ’等等。所以你得说慢点。”看着爷爷一副不学会不罢休的认真模样，我被感动了。渐渐地，我静下心来，开始耐心地教爷爷学英语，爷爷也在认真地给字母做汉语拼音。

　　突然，爷爷指着字母“Ｇ”问我：“孙女，你看，这个字母该怎么注音？”我一副洋洋得意的神情说：“呵呵，还是让我来告诉你吧！”我看着字母“Ｇ”，心想该怎么给它做汉语注音呢？还真把我给难住了，没办法，我只好找后援——妹妹，一起来想。

　　妹妹摸摸脑袋，眼珠“骨碌”一转，眉开眼笑地说：“‘Ｇ’不是‘急’吗？”我嘴里默念着“Ｇ——急——”对呀，于是赶忙帮爷爷写了上去。爷爷见了，乐得嘴都合不拢了。

　　看着爷爷认真的样子，我不由得想起了一句名言：活到老，学到老。其实，大家都应该有这种精神，因为知识是无穷无尽的.。
