　　i went to the supermarket the other day with 10 yuan. i was a bit hungry, so i decided to buy a small pack of cookies which cost me 4 yuan. after i ate them, i was still hungry, so i decided to buy a small bag of potato chips which cost me another 3 yuan. after i ate them both, i was no longer hungry.

　　however, i was very thirsty and wanted to buy a large bottle of milk to drink, but i didn’t have enough money left because even a small bo of milk would cost me 2 yuan and i needed 2 yuan to pay the bus fare. so i gave it up at last.

　　现在的生活中已经离不开英语了，比如说：高速公路、铁路的路标下面都注有英语;停车牌都用的字母“P”;公交车上先用中文报站，然后又用英语报一遍……可以说英语已经融入了我们的生活。

　　我的爸爸是70年代的人，以前没有学过多少英语，即使能多少读几句，但读出来的音也非常古怪。针对这种现状，上周星期六我便给爸爸当了一回英语小老师。

　　我先在本子上写了四个字母让他读，他一开始，看见这些字母，非常高兴。他说：“这就是你们所学的英语吗?不就是我们在幼儿园时学的.拼音吗?”我大笑起来：“爸爸，你可真没见识，这不是拼音，只是跟拼音的写法一样，读法却完全不一样。”我知道爸爸这是在开玩笑，或是考验我，他不是还能读几句别扭的英语吗?我认真地教爸爸读了这四个字母，接着又教他读“你好”、“再见”等英文单词，开始爸爸和我们在学习一样，觉得很无聊，不想学了。我严厉地对他说：“这学英语可不是一朝一夕就能学会的，要有一定的毅力去长期学习。”听了我的话，爸爸认真多了，我们又开始学习了许多新的单词。

　　本周星期五回家，我和爸爸重温了一下那天学习的单词。通过检验，爸爸也居然能读能写我教他的二十多个常用英语单词了。我高兴极了，体会到了当老师的无比快乐。

　　刚上英语课的时候，我们都很想自己考了多少分，老师问我们是从高到低，还是从低到高的念，我没有吭声，因为我还在思考，到底是选哪一个，之后我的同学说从高到低，有的'同学说是从低到高，之后我跟从低到高的人一起，之后田老师也说从低到高，从低到高的原因是可以知道到自己可以到哪一个行列里，老师开始念了，我很紧张我考不好，老师从三十几个一直念到七十，还没有念到我，我就可以知道我分数就在七十分以上，很快就念到七十五分饶宇鹏，我很失望，原来我就考了七十五分呀，我很失望。

　　下次我要考到九十分以上，不能再考这么低了。

　　Huamei School is a international school. So today I want to talk about some differences between east and west. What are the major differences between Chinese and western ？I wonder how many things do we know about the difference between west and east? Although I can’t tell you exactly , I want to talk about it in the following three parts. They are food, dressing and living styles.

　　First, food. In China, we prefer noodles, rice , as the main course. We like cooking a lot of delicious dishes, We sit together, and taste the dishes together, , when we eating ,we like chatting and laughing, But in England or other west countries, people like eating hamburgers, chips, pizza, pasta as their main course, they eat them with vegetable salad.

　　Second, dressing. In China, we prefer colorful clothes, we dress them in different place, but we don’t make up; But in west countries, people dress according their visiting places, in daily times, they often wear casual clothes, but if they go to a formal places , they often wear suits, ladies wearing beautiful dresses, pretty hats. No matter how old the ladies are, they always make up.

　　Third, living styles. Chinese prefer getting up early and go to bed early too. Children often go to different spare schools to study. They seldom go to work during the weekend.

　　不知道这件事怎么传到了姥爷耳朵里了。姥爷说他也要学。姥姥自告奋勇地说：“我教你。”一个星期过去了，姥爷进步很快，眨眼间姥爷的英语水平已经和姥姥一样了。我用英语文他们俩问题，姥姥、姥爷都对答如流。
