  Chinese Traditional Virtue

Chinese traditional virtue is the excellent moral heritage we inherited from the ancients. We learned many moral characters, such as, thrift, honesty, affection, filial piety, loyalty, humaneness and so on through many old stories and life practice. I summarized it into three aspects: humanity, courtesy and integrity.

To begin with, Chinese culture advocates humanity. This thought does not only seek for human peace but also for the harmony between human and nature and other creatures. There are many examples that show humanity in the history. The emperors, who gain people’s great supports such as Tang Taizong, Kang Xi, complied with the philosophy that “Cultivate humanity, and then you could cultivate your family, administrate the country, and bring peace all over the world” (The Book of Rites). Additionally, there goes a famous saying, “honor the aged of other people as we honor our own, take care of the young of other people as we take care of our own” (the Analects). This important part of humanity makes great contributions to establishing a harmonious society. All in all, humanity makes us show respect to not only human life but also the environment and all kinds of life around us.

In addition, China, a nation which has civilization of 5,000 years, puts courtesy at a very important position. From the old to the young, from the important events to the trivial things, it is common for people to use this rule to regulate their behavior. The traditional story of Kong Rong sharing pears is well-known by Chinese people. The behavior of KongRong to choose the smallest pear and leave the bigger ones to his brothers is a good explanation for the courtesy and comity. Courtesy makes us form many good habits in the daily life, for instance, saying hello to teachers, respecting parents, showing courtliness to our friends, giving up our seat on the bus to the people who needs it more. What’s more, courtesy play an important role in the Chinese diplomatic policy which do great help to the success of building steady relationship with other nations.

Last but not least, Chinese ethics place a great emphasis on integrity. It is the basic

principle when we get along with others. For this reason, I regard it as the most important rule we should obey to regulate our behavior. Integrity is needed in every field of our life. To be honest and sincere is the fundamental thing to be a human being. Just as the famous saying of Socrates “The dishonest life is not worth living”. Moreover, honesty and integrity is necessary when we are handling the relationship with friends and family members. Keeping secrets among family and friends often harm them deliberately or in deliberately. Still, in a business perspective, integrity is mainly with sincere reception, fair trade, abiding by the contract, pay the liabilities in time, and not cooking the books, etc. As a student, we show our integrity through pursuing the true academic knowledge, obeying the discipline of test, using the true and correct information to compete in all kinds of award selection.

In summary, I am deeply convinced that all these great virtues had, have and still will have tremendous effect on the field of regulating people’s behaviors. The Chinese traditional virtues are not only the essence of ancient moral civilization, but also the cohesion of Chinese national family. Great efforts are essential for us to make in order to pursue and inherit all these invisible spiritual culture heritages.

Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write a composition on the title: Bicycle--An Important Means of Transport in China. Your composition should be based on the following outline:

  1.为什么自行车在中国这样普及;

  2.和汽车的比较;

Your composition should be no less than 100 words. Write this composition on the Composition Sheet. Remember to write it clearly.

Bicycle--An Important Means of Transport in China

There are several reasons why bicycle is so popular in China. To begin with, it is so cheap that every family can afford to buy one. Some families even have two or three of it. Secondly, it is so convenient that with a bicycle, you can go to any place you like. Besides, you don't have to find a parking lot in a crowded street or have a garage at home. Finally, cycling has become a kind of sport that many people enjoy.

Compared with a car, a bicycle has both advantages and disadvantages. For instance, a car uses gas as its fuel, as aresult, it may cause air pollution. A bicycle, however, is pollution free. A long travel is surely not fit for a bicycle. But a person who sits all day long in a car might get fat and become unhealthy.

I think that since bicycle is so popular in China, it will certainly remain so for a long time. Many things are being done to make cars popular in China, but even when that time comes, bicycle will still be welcome.

High school is regarded as the best time in a person's life. As a senior three student, I will graduate very soon. Now, I have many things to share with you.

Firstly, I would like to show my thanks to those people who help and care about me, especially my teachers, parents and friends Without their help and advice, my life would be different. Secondly, it's time to say sorry to classmates whom I hurt or misunderstood.

Communication and smiles act as bridges to friendship. Above all, I've made up my mind to make an effort to study, for I believe hard work is the key to success. Just as the old saying goes, "no pains, no gains."

Finally I hope that all the younger students can make full use of time, because time and tide wait for no men.

When someone asks me: What is your Chinese dreamI will answer it without thinking twice: to be a good doctor. The reason why I want to be a doctor is that I want to save people’s lives as possible as I can. When I was young, I had a terrible care accident. Thanks to the doctors, they brought me back to life. From then on, to be a good doctor has always been an inspiration to me. I will study hard to make sure that my dream will come true in the future.

Chinese dream is made up of every ordinary people’s dreams. We should do our best to make ourdream come true.

Recently we had a class meeting on the topic of My Chinese Dream. Inspired by President Xi’s Chinese Dream, everyone talked about his understanding of the Chinese Dream. We all believe that this dream will come true in the future.

I also talked about my own dream. I have always wanted to be a doctor. Not only can doctors save people’s lives but also they are doing a respectable job. Doctors can also help people to live a better life with their professional knowledge.

To realize my dream, I must try to work hard from now on. I must learn as much as I can so that I can get into a good medical college, where I

can prepare myself hard for the job of a doctor. Only in this way can I achieve my goal。

Today, my mother and I went to the China Science and Technology Museum near the bird's nest in Beijing. From afar, the newly built Chinese science and Technology Museum is grand and spectacular.

We walked in and found that it was a four story building with a main exhibition hall and an attached hall. Among them, the main exhibition hall is divided into four exhibition halls according to the Chinese light, exploration and discovery, science and life, challenge and future theme, which has many exhibits and large area, which is really breathtaking. I often go to the Tianjin Museum of science and technology, in contrast, is simply pale into insignificance by comparison.

It is believed that the Palace Museum, or Zi Jin Cheng (Purple Forbidden City), got its name from astronomy folklore, The ancient astronomers divided the constellations into groups and centered them around the Ziwei Yuan (North Star) . The constellation containing the North Star was called the Constellation of Heavenly God and star itself was called the purple palace. Because the emperor was supposedly the son of the heavenly gods, his central and dominant position would be further highlighted the use of the word purple in the name of his residence. In folklore, the term ―an eastern purple cloud is drifting‖ became a metaphor for auspicious events after a purple cloud was seen drifting eastward immediately before the arrival of an ancient philosopher, LaoZi, to the Hanghu Pass. Here, purple is associated with auspicious developments. The word jin (forbidden) is self-explanatory as the imperial palace was heavily guarded and off-explanatory as the imperial palace was heavily guarded and off-limits to ordinary people.

The Forbidden City is rectangular in shape. It is 960 meters long from north to south and 750 meter wide from east west. It has 9,900 rooms under a total roof area 150,000 square meters. Manpower and materials throughout the country were used to build the Forbidden City. A total of 230,000 artisans and one million laborers were employed. Marble was quarried from fangshan Country Mount Pan in Jixian County in Hebei Province. Granite was quarried in Quyang County in Hebei Province. Paving blocks were fired in kilns in Suzhou in southern China. Bricks and scarlet pigmentation used on the palatial walls came from linqing in Shandong Province. Timber was cut, processed and hauled from the northwestern and southern regions.

Pollution: An Increasing Concern in China

It is reported that ten big cities in China are being ranked among the top twenty cities with the highest pollution index in the world. This means it is high time we did something to bring the situation under control. Many factors are contributing to the deteriorating situation: industrial wastes pumped into the air, the lakes and rivers; a increasing number of automobiles crowding into the streets; the widespread use of plastic bags etc.

To my view, stiffer laws and regulations must be implemented to check pollution. Industries that release wastes without permission should be heavily fined. Cars should be equipped to minimize the exhaust they release into the air. And the use of plastic bags and disposable meal boxes should be banned. What’s more, the media should play an important role in implanting a sense of environmental consciousness into people’s mind. If everybody works toward a common goal of making the environment better, we can create a cleaner and lovelier world for us and for the coming generation.

Keeping a diary in English is one of the effective ways to improve our English writing ability. Compared with other forms of writing, it is shorter and takes less time. It can help us to cultivate the habit of thinking in English. If we persist in his practice, gradually we’ll learn how to express ourselves in English.

In keeping a diary in English, we inevitably run up against a lot of difficulties. In the first place, it often happens that we have trouble finding appropriate words and phrases to give expression to our mind. Secondly, there are many idiomatic ways of saying things in Chinese. And it is extremely hard for us to put them into English properly. Certainly, there are some other roadblocks we may come across in our keeping a diary in English.

As far as I'm concerned, my suggestion is that we should always have a note book and a Chinese-English dictionary within easy reach. Whenever something beats us, we can first put it down in our notebook and then consult our dictionary. We can also turn to our English teacher for help, if necessary. In short, it is of great use to keep a diary in English for the development of our writing skills.

His joke made me laugh to death.

His joke made me laugh to death.

I was quite amused by the joke he just told.

His joke made me laugh to death这种人鬼情未了式的句子正常多了的一个表达。
