四六级：考场上那些用滥了的词，该如何替换？
不管是英文还是汉语,最常用的基础用词都是翻来覆去的那些。汉语里修饰形容用的千篇一律会被嘲笑词汇贫乏,英语考试中自然会有一样的通病。当你和众人一样翻来覆去只会使用那么几个基础词汇的时候,阅卷老师也会因为用词的大同小异而感到审美疲劳,这种时候还如何脱颖而出得高分呢?所以,抛弃那些千篇一律的用法,尝试用这些新词汇来替代吧!
1. 支持(support)
advocate
We advocate solving international dispute by negotiation, instead of appealing to arms。
我们主张通过协商解决国际争端,而不主张诉诸武力。
argue for
Do directors see new risks that argue for a different approach?
董事们有没有看到可能支持不同做法的新风险?
in favour of
The majority voted in favor of the proposal。
多数人投票赞成这项提案。
2. 反对(object)
argue against
Three considerations argue against increasing fee。
三种理由反对增加费用。
be opposed to
Mr Clarke has shown himself to be resolutely opposed to compromise。
克拉克先生已表示自己坚决反对妥协。
frown on
He would frown on such aproposal。
他不会赞成这样的建议。
3. 许多(many)
numerous
Numerous factories have sprung up in this once desolate area。

4. 不同的(different)
various

diverse

人们对于这些新规定抱有不同的态度。
5. 普遍的(common)
commonplace
Yet on the most commonplace occasion I can never know your thoughts.

universal
Such problems are a universal feature of senior citizens。
这类问题是老年人的通病。
pervasive
It is the most pervasive compound on earth。
它是地球上最普遍的化合物。
