　　安然创始人病故 终年64岁 Ex-Enron chief Ken Lay dies at age 64

　　肯·莱(Ken Lay) 因心脏病发作，于昨日凌晨在其位于美国科罗拉州的度假别墅去世，终年64岁。今年5月，他被判在安然(Enron)破产案中犯有欺诈和同谋罪，面临在监狱中度过余生的前景。

　　Ken Lay, convicted in May of fraud and conspiracy over the collapse of Enron and facing the prospect of spending his last years in jail, died early yesterday of an apparent heart attack at his family’s vacation home in Colorado. He was 64.

　　曾被美国总统布什(George W.?Bush)亲切地称为“肯尼男孩”的莱，利用能源行业解除管制之机，把安然从一家毫无生气的天然气管道公司打造成90年代新经济的标志，成为了一家交易商，交易范围从石油天然气期货到天气衍生产品，无所不包。

　　Once affectionately called “Kenny Boy” by George W.?Bush, US president, Mr Lay built Enron, a sleepy natural gas pipeline company, into a symbol of the 1990s’ new economy, embracing energy deregulation and becoming a trader of everything from oil and gas futures to weather derivatives.

　　莱的死亡意味着，导致安然公司灾难性毁灭的整个内幕，也许永远不会为人所知。

　　Mr Lay’s death means the full inside story of Enron’s catastrophic fall may never be known.
