　　so i will not avoid the tasks of today and charge them to tomorrow .

　　We Need A Blue Sky

　　In recent years heavy smog often appear in many cities of China, which has brought bad impact on our daily life. Since the value of PM2.5 inthe air is in the high level, many people wear masks to protect themselves when going out. Once in an area, due to the emissions of smoke from coal burning and car exhaust, the atmosphere was so heavily polluted that people couldn’t see their own fingers just in front of them and some schools and airports had to close down.

　　When a strong sand storm is blowing, the whole sky will turn darker and darker. It looked as if we had been spending the night when the sun is high upin the sky. It is high time we tackled with the pollution problems.

　　All factories in the cities that puff heavy smoke should be closed down or moved into the remote areas. All cars that emit black smoke should be banned from running on the roads. If we don’ttake resolute measures to protect our environment, our sky will never turn blue again,the air we breathe in every day will never be clean and our health will be deteriorating day by day. Therefore we appeal to the entire fellow country men, let’s take concerted action to safeguard our living environment.

　　Premier Li Qiang, in his work report, had called on us to tackle with the pollution problems. Following the Premier’s call, some local governments had taken some measures, such as reducing the use of coal and putting restrictions on the use of private cars to fight against the pollution. As long as

　　Never, Never Give Up

　　We often hear people say, “Never give up.” These can be encouraging words and words of determination. A person who believes in them will keep trying to reach his goal no matter how many times he fails. In my opinion, the quality of determination to succeed is an important one to have. Therefore, I believe that we should never give up.

　　One reason is that if we give up too easily, we will rarely achieve anything. It is not unusual for us to fail in our first attempt at something new, so we should not feel discouraged and should try again. Besides, if we always give up when we fail, we will not be able to develop new skills and grow as people. Another reason we should never give up is that we can learn from our mistakes only if we make a new effort. If we do not try again, the lesson we have learned is wasted. Finally, we should never give up because as we work to reach our goals, we develop confidence, and this confidence can help us succeed in other areas of our lives. If we never challenge ourselves, we will begin to doubt our abilities.

　　In short, it is important that we do not give up when working for our goals. Whether we succeed in the end or not, we will learn something, and what we learn will help us to become better, more confident people. Furthermore, if we give up, we have non chance of attaining our goals, but if we keep trying, there is always a chance that we will succeed one day.

　　You all are leaving your Alma Mater now. I have no gift to present you all except a piece of advice.

　　What I would like to advise is that "Don't give up your study." Most of the courses you have taken are partly for your certificate. You had no choice but to take them. From now on, you may study on your own. I would advise you to work hard at some special field when you are still young and vigorous. Your youth will be gone that will never come back to you again. When you are old, and when your energy are getting poorer, you will not be able to as you wish to. Even though you have to study in order to make a living, studies will never live up to you. Making a living without studying, you will be shifted out in three or five years. At this time when you hope to make it up, you will say it is too late. Perhaps you will say, "After graduation and going into the society, we will meet with an urgent problem, that is, to make a living. For this we have no time to study. Even though we hope to study, we have no library nor labs, how can we study further?"

　　I would like to say that all those who wait to have a library will not study further even though they have one and all these who wait to have a lab will not do experiments even though they have one. When you have a firm resolution and determination to solve a problem, you will naturally economize on food and clothing.

　　As for time, I should say it's not a problem. You may know that every day he could do only an hour work, not much more than that because Darwin was ill for all his life. You must have read his achievements. Every day you spend an hour in reading 10 useful pages, then you will read more than 3650 pages every year. In 30 years you will have read 110,000 pages.

　　My fellow students, reading 110,000 pages will make you a scholar. But it will take you an hour to read three kinds of small-sized newspapers and it will take you an hour and a half to play four rounds of Mahjian pieces. Reading small-sized newspapers or playing Mahjian pieces, or working hard to be a scholar? It's up to you all.

　　Henrik Ibsen said, "It is your greatest duty to make yourself out."

　　Studying is then as tool as casting. Giving up studying will destroy yourself.

　　are you dissatisfied with today's success? it is the harvest from yesterday's sowing. do you dream of a golden morrow? you will reap what you are sowing today. we get out of life just what we put into it.

　　nature takes on our moods: she laughs with those who laugh and weeps with those who weep. if we rejoice and are glad the very birds sing more sweetly, the woods and streams murmur our song. but if we are sad and sorrowful a sudden gloom falls upon nature's face; the sun shines, but not in our hearts, the birds sing, but not to us.

　　the future will be just what we make it. our purpose will give it its character. one's resolution is one's prophecy. leave all your discouraging pessimism behind. do not prophesy evil, but good. men of hope come to the front.

　　as you know, news commentary may be considered as special ability of few journalists. they need strong sense to analyze the news and ability to express their viewpoint, in editorial or column. but according to some theories such as social responsibility theory, mass media should functions as a idea market, in which everyone can exchange their idea. that’s the opinion pages in most of newspapers of world. from the end of 20th century, more and more chinese newspapers have opinion pages, more and more chinese people express their idea in these pages. so they need training of express. that what i can do.

　　you may say that，everyone has born ability to express. but, in my opinion, the good expression in mass media publicly must be efficient, so as to make audiences easily understand what’s your point. according to some journalism scholars, the audiences of mass medias are always hurried, they have no more time to view or listen to it over and just scan your article. so your must express your idea in efficient text.

　　an efficient text means that the audiences pay less time and easily get your point. generally, that need logical thinking, clear writing, which include clear structure, short sentences, simple words so as to make sure text readable. otherwise, you will waste the resources of media and times of audiences, finally, you may lose the opportunity to express.

　　how to make a text efficient? actually, journalism pursue good effect of communication; news story and news commentary are efficient texts. journalism and communication scholars have found some rules and skills to enhance effect of text, such as formula of readability and primacy-recency effect. for example, putting your viewpoint into the beginning may be efficient generally, that help the reader get your opinion as early as possible and ensure them not to lose your thread.

　　Your environment has a tremendous influence on you. The books you read, the people you spend time with, and the music you listen to all influence the way you think and feel about yourself and the world around you.

　　In a nutshell, your environment can either build up your self-confidence or drag it down.

　　If you're in a situation where you're discouraged, such as an unhealthy relationship or a miserable job, you have to change that situation if you want your self-confidence level to grow.

　　Create an environment that supports you if your desire to have abundant self-confidence. Spend time with confident people.

　　as a correspondent of the qingdao morning news, i visited dr. james gilman, the president of the international committee for marco polo studies in england. in this picture, this is james, and this is me and we are looking at a dragon’s tooth. this is a true story.

　　65 years ago, james lived in qingdao. then he was only 5 years old. he often visited the aquarium and was fascinated by a creature on display there, which he thought was a dragon. he was afraid of its sharp teeth and wanted one to keep as a treasure.

　　he kept the tooth for the next 65 years, but the feeling of guilt at having stolen it was there in the background all through his life. it was always on his conscience, and the feeling intensified as he became older. finally he decided to put right his childish error. in xx, he visited qingdao and returned it to the aquarium with his sincere apologies. he received a warm welcome.

　　when james visited qingdao, i accompanied him all the time and reported on his visit. i was deeply touched by his honesty. it has taught me a lot. i think to err is human. the important thing is to have the courage to admit and correct one’s error.

　　honesty is a vital quality of human behaviour. so we should try to keep an honest mind in everything we say and do. i would like to say to all of my friends: let’s be honest people of good moral character.

　　modern City Shanghai，another river which used to be a very important transportation route runs through the center of the city，people respected and regard it as"mother"．It is the"suzhou river，but l believe that few of you would sit beside it，people will be scattered by the terrible smell of water when walk by．I have to say it is extremely dirty! And we all know that a lot of beautiful rivers in the world also are Sharing the same fate with suzhou river． Who is the devil? I can't help asking．

　　Many human activities and their by-products have the potential to pollute water. Please have a look along the banks of the river, large and small industrial enterprises discharge dirty

　　water, tons of garbage were thrown into the river, the water contained so much that it can't clean itself. Compared with the dramatic development in many sides of Shanghai, the suzhou river has become a black point of the appearance of city.

　　Fortunately, the government has control the situation now, we are happy to see some parts of the river has become clean again, and we even can find fish sometime.

　　The unique earth is the only planet full of lives, the water is just like the blood in the active body, protecting water is saving ourselves. Not to waste a single drop of water, otherwise, the only drop of water we could keep in the future would be our tear!
